Who may join LACTMA?
The original name of our affiliate of the California Mathematics Council (CMC) was “Los Angeles City Teachers’ of Mathematics Association,” still reflected in our logo. However, membership quickly grew beyond the city boundaries. Although roughly centered about our metropolitan area of Los Angeles, our membership is largely draw from teachers in districts and schools within Los Angeles county who are not otherwise served by another CMC affiliate.
What services do members receive?
For an annual membership fee of $15.00, LACTMA members have traditionally received a quarterly newsletter, opportunities to nominate outstanding colleagues for recognition at an annual dinner, and discounted local conference attendance rates.
Each new, all-volunteer LACTMA board member is responsible for making your membership meaningful, and providing services that advance its mission. Future activities may allow members to connect electronically as well as face-to-face.
Consider contributing your ideas, energy, and skills by contacting Janet Bryson, LACTMA’s President (see Contact Page.)
